Hello!
I'm Milaine! Creating is both my passion and my way of connecting with the world around me. Whether inspired by my own ideas or creating a custom piece for someone else, I love transforming concepts into meaningful works of art. Alongside acrylic paint, my mixed-media practice often incorporates reclaimed materials, giving new life to objects that might otherwise be discarded. I believe art has the power to enrich everyday life and should feel welcoming, personal, and accessible. My hope is that each piece sparks an emotion, a memory, or simply a moment of beauty.
My Story
Originally from Dundee, in northern New Brunswick, Milaine began her creative journey at a very young age. She began her professional career as a teacher, where her creativity was already expressed daily, both in the way she arranged her classroom and in how she connected with her students. Art class was undoubtedly her favorite, as it opened the door to a form of expression for both herself and her students. Over the years, her own artistic creativity expanded even further. It was while completing a project with a guest artist in her classroom that this desire to explore that world truly emerged.
She began her artistic practice in 2014. She set up a studio in her home, where she often spent her free time creating. She gathered the courage to participate in events such as Artists Alley in Shediac, the Shediac Artists Village, and various arts and crafts markets in the Greater Moncton area to showcase her work. That’s when Mil et une créations truly took flight. She has also donated artwork to charitable organizations such as Butterfly Wings Foundation, Tree of Hope, and the Greater Moncton Down Syndrome Society.
Realizing that the common thread throughout her life was the need to create, Milaine chose to embark on a new chapter by returning to school in 2019. Driven by curiosity, joy, and a desire to deepen her visual language, she enrolled in Graphic Design at CCNB Dieppe. This training allowed her to bring together her creative strengths and communication skills while nurturing her personal artistic practice.
In February 2023, she presented her very first exhibition at Galerie Parallèle, a meaningful experience that confirmed her place within the artistic community. Encouraged by this recognition and guided by a deeply rooted passion, Milaine then chose the path of self-employment in order to give a central place to creating, exploring, and sharing her artistic universe.
Today, Milaine continues to explore, experiment, and follow her instincts. For her, creating is not a final destination, but a journey: a way of inhabiting the world with curiosity, gentleness, and authenticity. Her work invites us to slow down, to observe differently, and to find beauty in imperfection.
